Drawing has been my greatest interest for a long time. My first experience with art done while traveling was on a trip to Great Britain.  I bought a sketchbook and a pencil and the journey began.  I have found that the most interesting drawings have always been done during my travels when I had more time and less stress from everyday life. My drawings usually emphasize the exquisite details of objects I find wherever and am able to to observe up close and personally.  A chair, a basket or a leaf, maybe the bark on a tree or a beautiful stone become the subject.  I enjoy the many intricacies, which I am able to capture in relatively small drawings.  In recent years these elements have become the basis for me to expand into my larger paintings.  Gradually artists’ works like that of Matisse and Ellsworth Kelly have become very influential to my current work.
