My interest in painting goes back to when I attended San Jose State and studied with Sam Richardson. As in my drawings the subject of my paintings is related to nature as well as still life . The other artist that was later very influential and responsible for my extensive interest in the miniature detailed drawing was Cynthia Padilla ,a famous Botanical Artist. In 2003 I studied with Master Painter Kwok Wai Lau at his workshop at the Palm Springs Museum. It was not only an incredible learning experience being with Lau, but was also the beginning of a circle ofart friends, many of whom I still maintain a very close relationship.
Time passed many things changed in my life. One day I received a phone call from Lau. He had a space for me to study with him in one of his private study mentorships. I asked him when he wanted to begin this he suggested “What about next Tuesday?” I responded: “But Lau, I am in Paris!”
Since then Lau has been my mentor, as well as my “therapist”, guiding me into many new art territories. He has always provided me with inspiration to attempt un believable feats in the artist’ sworld.
